We start the excursion from the port of Chania, Souda. We drive using the main road towards the village Vamos (30 min drive). Vamos is a small traditional village, an ideal place to admire the local architecture. We can walk around to see some of the traditional houses that have been restored. A small local museum is also interesting. A 45 min stop is necessary for Vamos. We continue our excursion by using the road through the hills to reach the main road, and our next stop is Georgioupoli (30 min drive). A nice small village with sandy beach and a small port for fishing boats. Take some time to take pictures or to enjoy a coffee near the beach. 45 min free time for a walk or coffee. Then we continue to return back to the port of Souda (20 min drive).
Depending on the time available you can also add interesting places on the way to Vamos or Georgioupoli. This excursion gives you the opportunity to see the landscape of the western part of Crete, of the prefecture of Chania.
